Windows 7 Upgrade On Hp Dv 6000?

I have just started using windows 7 and i love it. Now my mom wants me to update her laptop from vista to 7. I have concerns that the laptop may have problems ruining windows 7. Her laptop is the hp dv 6000. 1. 7GHz dual core 950 MB ram and 250 gb drive. My main concern is that the ram may be short. I have 4 gb ram and I use 1GB just with the basics running. Does any one have the system she has with win 7 and how does it work? Thank you.

    it would still work with windows 7.
