If you’re upgrading from Vista you won’t need to reformat the drive Unless your’re
verison of Vista is 32 bit and your upgrading to a 64 bit system.
XP or below you’ll have to reformat.
I’ve been using Windows since verision 1. 0 came out and have learned from
hard experience that it’s normally not a good idea to upgrade a new windows
system until it’s been out for about a year. unless you’e having a LOT of problems
with the version of the operating system you’re presently using.

Format your pc even if you have vista installed it is a good practice because windows can make trouble for you when you upgrade.
You can use the user migration tool to copy all your documents and settings to windows 7.

You can upgrade as long as you are going from Vista to 7 of the same type. Meaning, Vista Home to 7 Home, Vista Ultimate to 7 Ultimate, etc. . .
If you have XP, you need to do a clean install.

man, don’t upgrade. windows 7 is not that great! makes everything really slow :)
in answer to ur question, not sure.

If you’re upgrading from Vista, then no. Otherwise, yes.
