Can I Use The Free Windows 7 Upgrade From My New Computer On A Different Computer?

I have a newer computer that I bought in november of this year. I ordered a Windows 7 upgrade today and it’s on its way to my home, but I know myu daughter could put it to better use. I was wondering if anyone has gotten their upgrade or knows if I can use the upgrade on my daughters computer that I bought in may and just missed the upgrade cut-off. Is the software programmed so that it can only work in the computer it was registered with, or can i use it with hers?

You cannot use one license key on two computers, the only exception is that if you have a volume license key, you are permitted to use it on more than one computer.
If you want to use it on another computer, you will need to purchase a new license key.

The computers may need to be from the same manufacturer. But you should be able to upgrade her computer. You will not be able to upgrade any other computers. It’s good for only one time. Rod

You can put it on your daughter’s, but remember that after that, you can no longer put it on yours.
